Flying with Snow Globes, A Reminder

While we are happy to make custom snow globes all year round, and repair them whenever someone needs a globe fixed, December remains a peak time for folks to give and get snow globes.

If you plan to carry a snow globe with you on an airplane trip, please remember: while TSA has "relaxed" snow globe guidelines, they are still very strict about what can and can NOT go in your carry on luggage.

A snow globe that is larger than a ping pong ball may be confiscated at the security gate. The official language from TSA says, "Some Snow Globes are Permitted Now: TSA now allows small snow globes in carry-on luggage when packed in a passenger's plastic 3.4 oz bag. Snow globes that appear to contain less than 3.4 ounces (approximately tennis-ball size) will be permitted if the entire snow globe, including the base, is able to fit in the same one clear, plastic, quart-sized, re-sealable bag as a passenger’s other liquids."

What does that mean to you? It means that the majority of snow globes STILL do not follow TSA guidelines. The personalized and custom snow globes made by Snow Globe Central are always larger than 4 ounces, and will not pass inspection in your carry on luggage. If you aren't sure how big 4 ounces is, here's a tip: If you hold a tennis ball up to your snow globe and your snow globe is the same size, you are at the very edge of non-compliance, and depending on the gate agent, you may be asked to leave it behind if you are trying to carry it on the plane. Only the tinest (and usually imported) snow globes, about the size of a ping-pong ball, hold this tiny amount of liquid.

To be safe, wrap your snow globe carefully and tuck it into your CHECKED luggage. We recommend placing a snow globe in a sealed plastic bag, then cushioning on all sides before placing in luggage. You can nestle the wrapped snow globe inside your soft sweaters and other clothing to give an extra measure of protection. Be sure heavy items, such as shoes or a hair dryer, aren't going to bump the snow globe and break it. This way, when you arrive at your destination, your special snow globe gift will be with you, ready to make someone smile.

This excellent, super comprehensive post could not have come at a better time for me, thank you!
Great day! I could have sworn I’ve been to this blog previously however in the wake of perusing a portion of the posts I understood it’s unfamiliar to me. In any case, I’m unquestionably happy I discovered it and I’ll be bookmarking and inquiring regularly!

everything flows quite naturally. The greeting, the complement, the added value…you ask the thoughtful question because it’s something you truly want to know the answer to!
I am a blogger who left the scene for a while, and now I’m back, and ready to make some new connections. I will most definitely be checking out your site!

You might gain a few followers by playing the numbers game, but they won’t stick around long if you’re not speaking your own authentic truth. Making REAL connections is what commenting (and blogging) is all about, right?
Here’s my “added value”: I can’t stress enough the importance of being sincere in your comments. It would be easy for a reasonably intelligent person to use this formula and play the numbers game by commenting on as many blogs as possible. You MUST truly connect with the post–because when you do,

I really enjoyed this post about commenting on blogs. I had never thought about this being a way to help grow my blog! I am going to start using your methods and comment on other blogs – I mean, I have before, but they were probably just “blah” comments.
my own blog, I get people who will “like” my post, but they never actually leave a comment. That is frustrating, because I don’t know if they have actually read my content or they are liking it in hopes that I will come and visit them.
